here is so much information online for starting an internet business regardless of what type of business you are setting up. Often times newbie’s start out following the paint by numbers system set by some less than qualified guru, e-book, or article. Generally the information provided is focused on generalized niche marketing, and often lacks real world fundamental business planning basics.

If someone were to ask me for a basic start up guide here is what I would offer them. Understand depending on a specific business model, and goals more or less may be recommended.

In looking around the Internet you would think the most important means to herding traffic to your website were back-links, niche-keywords, SEO and being on the first page of search engines by what ever means possible. There are business models devoted to just those topics, and yes, they are extremely important.

Unless you foolishly believe some stand alone Tricky Joe pushbutton software program is a God send and will solve all your traffic issues then you know sales advertising marketing is work requiring research, response behavioral knowledge, and writing skills.

Welcome to the real world, and yes I know it kind-of sucks but after awhile it starts to be kind-of fun.

Even though I have officially ceased working with corporate clients to assist the work from home entrepreneurs I still strive to stay on top of innovations and techniques in the marketing word so I read for about an hour each say.  This also helps to me to remember things I know but forgot I knew. (I am over fifty, when you catch up you’ll understand.)
